Hannah Hutton is a freelance vocalist and improviser from Liverpool. She began her musical education on the violin, before undertaking classical vocal studies with BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Kathryn Rudge, alongside being a member of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Choir.
Hannah is a First Class graduate of Leeds College of Music, training under the tutelage of award-winning German jazz vocalist Miriam Ast, alongside receiving teaching from Jon Malaxetxebarria, Carolyn Hargreaves and Sarah Dacey. Hannah studied a combined honours degree of jazz and classical voice with conducting and was awarded second study bursaries in both her second and third years of college. During her time at Leeds College of Music, Hannah was a three-time recipient of the Experience Fund scholarship, allowing her to undertake further studies in France, London and most recently in New York.
Hannah is passionate about Arts Education and was elected Education Officer on the Leeds College of Music Student’s Union 2018/19 and held the role of course representative from 2016 to 2018. Since graduating, Hannah has developed on from her role as Education Officer through working for the Student’s Union, assisting with student feedback and representation.
In September 2020, Hannah began her Masters degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a scholarship and is delighted to be a Help Musicians Postgraduate Performance Award Holder. She studies under the tutelage of Brigitte Beraha, Sara Colman and Fini Bearman and is a member of the esteemed Guildhall Jazz Singers, directed by Scott Stroman.
