About Hannah

Hannah Hutton is a freelance vocalist and improviser from Liverpool, now living in London. She began her musical education on the violin, before undertaking classical vocal studies with BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Kathryn Rudge, alongside being a member of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Choir.  

Hannah graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as a scholarship holder with a Masters with Distinction in Jazz Voice in 2022, and is delighted to be a Help Musicians Postgraduate Performance Award Holder. 

Prior to this Hannah studied a combined undergrdauate in Jazz  with Classical vocal studies at Leeds Conservatoire, graduating  in 2019 with a First Class honours degree.  

Recent performances have included; a headline show at Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho, presenting the music of Stephen Sondheim with the Hannah Hutton Septet, headlining the Villars Big Jazz Festival in Switzerland with my Quartet and managing and performing on the Sam Every Big Band UK Tour.  

Hannah has performed across the UK at  venues including; Leeds Town Hall, The Barbican, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, Chichester Festival Theatre and Milton Court Concert Hall, as well as at; Pizza Express Jazz Club, Oliver’s Jazz Club, 7 Arts, Sela Bar, Old Street Records and Next Door Records. 

Her band features an outstanding lineup of London’s eminent jazz musicians including; Will Barry (piano),  Isaac Burland (double bass),  Tom Potter (drums) and  Felix Fardell (trombone).
